What's New:

•  Select the 4 teams on the bottom row of the team select screen to play with The Legendary Players - (1. The Royal Club, 2. Classic FC, 3. Legends City 4. Superstars United) 

•  During Match - Play 1 Card ONLY - unless you see 2, 4 or 5 card combo highlighted.

• Important: Use the rating number on your card that matches your opponent’s card type (e.g., if they play a defense card, use your defense rating; if they play an attack card, use your attack rating).

• Settings - CPU is set to 100% - can change in settings menu to 50%.      
• Play local 2 player by turning CPU off in settings menu.

• In the digital version of Football Challengers: The Card Game, the game automatically resolves the outcomes of each play once both players have selected their cards, calculating results based on card stats and any combos the player has formed.

• Football Challengers: The Card Game can also be played physically, where players manually select and resolve card outcomes, making it a versatile experience both on and off the screen.

Components:

• 80 Player Cards: 10 from each team - (PLUS 4 EXRA LEGENDARY TEAMS) 
• 20 Referee Cards
• 6 Goalkeeper Cards
• 6 PEN Goalkeeper Cards
• 1 Football

Setup:

1. Select Teams: Choose 4 teams in total. Pick 2 teams from England, France, Germany, or Italy, and 2 teams from Spain, Portugal, Argentina, or Brazil. Select legends from the bottom row.
2. Goalkeeper Cards: Give both players their Goalkeeper cards and PEN (Penalty) Goalkeeper cards.
3. Referee Card Deck: Place the Referee card deck next to the board.
4. Start of the Game: Place the football in the center of the pitch. Deal 5 Player Cards to each player.

Gameplay:

1. Winning a Duel:
   • Pick one card from your hand and compare its rating (attack or defense) to your opponent’s card.
   • Important: Use the rating number on your card that matches your opponent’s card type (e.g., if they play a defense card, use your defense rating; if they play an attack card, use your attack rating).
   • The player with the higher rating wins possession of the ball and moves the ball the number of squares indicated on their winning card.
   • Discard the card you used in the duel.
   • Use the rating that matches your opponent’s card type (e.g., if they play a defense card, use your defense rating; if they play an attack card, use your attack rating).
   • After the duel and ball movement, both players draw cards to have 5 cards in hand again.
2. 2-Card Combo:
   • Play 2 cards together with the same team and matching ratings (attack & defense) to win a duel. This combination allows you to match the ratings and team of the card your opponent played to turn the duel in your favor.
3. 4-Card Combo:
   • Play 4 cards from the same position (e.g., Winger) to advance the ball to the side of the box. This sets up an opportunity to cross the ball into the box in the next duel.
4. 5-Card Combo:
   • Play 5 cards from the same position or the same team from anywhere on the field to enter the shooting box. This can be cancelled by playing another 5-card combo.
5. Shooting Box:
   • When in the opponent’s shooting box, choose a player card to shoot left, center, or right. The opponent uses 1 Goalkeeper Card to try to save the shot.

Game Duration:

1. Time Limit: Playing through one deck of Player Cards constitutes one half of the game. Going through the deck twice equals a full match.
2. Draw/Extra Time: Shuffle 14 Player Cards for each half of extra time if the game is a draw.
3. Penalties: If the match is still tied after extra time, conduct a penalty shootout. Choose five Player Cards from a pool of 10 cards each. Only use PEN Goalkeeper Cards for saving.

Special Actions:

1. Referee Cards:
   • When landing on a referee square (icon on pitch), draw a Referee Card and follow its instructions. Discard the card after use.
2. Goal:
   • If a shot is successful, add one goal to the scoring team and place the ball at the kick-off spot.
3. Goal Kick:
   • After a successful save, place the ball on either Goalkeeper (GK) spot in your own half.
4. Throw-In:
   • Move the ball the remaining spaces towards the opponent’s goal (maximum of 2 spaces, but cannot enter the shooting box).
5. Corner Kick:
   • Place the ball in one of the corner spots. Win the next turn to enter the shooting box for a goal attempt.
6. Penalty:
   • Place the ball on the penalty spot. The goalkeeper uses only PEN Goalkeeper Card to save.

Substitutions:

• Each player can replace up to 3 cards throughout the game. Discard one or more cards from your hand and draw new cards from the Player Deck to replace them.
